Licensed Resident in Counseling
Tara Johnson
We travel the road with you, hope for the hopeful and hopeless! We pair authentic listening with the power of hope.
Hello! My name is Tara Johnson, LPC-Resident in Counseling, and I am a graduate of Walden University with my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling. In my educational and clinical journey, I have found the Cognitive-Behavioral approach to be of great assistance; however, I am also aware that everyone is unique thereby requiring the addition of other therapies as warranted to my “mental health toolbox”. All theories incorporate an understanding of the desire to change one’s approach to a situation even if the situation continues to exist, let me assist you in the process.
The change and growth we desire can be difficult to achieve as well as maintain unless we actively work together. One’s reaction to a situation can be a hindrance to change more than the situation itself, so it is important to understand that your effort will have a significant impact on the overall success of the therapeutic process. The secret to health for both mind and body is neither to mourn the past nor worry about the future but live the present moment wisely! Whether you have attended counseling before or if this is your first endeavor, you will find my style to be relaxed and conversational; so, ease your mind and take that first step to emotional wellness and mental stability.
