Licensed resident in counseling
Eamonn Carolan
We travel the road with you, hope for the hopeful and hopeless! We pair authentic listening with the power of hope.
Eamonn Carolan is a licensed Resident in Counseling with three years of therapy experience with individuals and families. He earned his Masters of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Mason University. Before entering the counseling field, Eamonn taught special education for three years and worked in mental health crisis de-escalation and prevention for five years. Eamonn has worked with clients experiencing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma-related challenges, obsessive/compulsive thoughts or behaviors, stage of life challenges, family or work stressors, gender and sexual identity related challenges, and difficulties specific to older adults.
Eamonn works to establish an atmosphere of safety with all clients, developing strategies that clients can use to cope with challenging emotions both in and out of the therapy session, in order to create a secure space in which clients can explore longer term difficulties or memories that can feel too scary to approach at first. He draws from psychodynamic, gestalt, and cognitive behavioral approaches, and offers online sessions for ease of access.
