What is trauma-informed counseling?
Trauma-informed counseling is an environment where your therapist aims to understand your history, potential triggers, needs, and goals for overcoming your trauma, all maintaining an environment of safety and trust so that you can feel comfortable discussing past experiences in order to heal and grow. Your needs, wants and goals during counseling are always our main priority.
How can trauma counseling help me?
If you or some you love is struggling with coping with past trauma or a recent traumatic event, it is important to remember that you should not wait to get help. You don’t have navigate this journey alone. Trauma counseling offers a safe, judgement-free environment with someone who will listen and understand everything you have been through. Counseling is not an intervention but a rather a space to feel heard, express your emotions, and learn new coping skills to help you heal.
