We travel the road with you, hope for the hopeful and hopeless! We pair authentic listening with the power of hope.
Hello! My name is Melissa Roberts. I am an LPC- Resident in Counseling. I graduated in 2019 from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Master of Science in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. I graduated in 2006 from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Master of Teaching in Elementary Education. I have been working with children, adolescents, and their families for 20+ years. I have experience working in a public school setting where I have guided children and their families academically and emotionally. I also have experience working with children, adolescents, and their families in crisis at a crisis stabilization unit, where I led group therapy, individual therapy, and family therapy.
I use a variety of modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing. I firmly believe in the interconnectedness of our feelings, thoughts, and behaviors and utilize the cognitive triangle to assist in understanding the relationship of interconnectedness. I assist in understanding the ability to view an issue from multiple perspectives. I have an immense passion for providing services to help our youth and women cope with crisis, stress, anxiety, depression, anger management, relationship issues, and trauma. I also have experience with women and couples facing infertility struggles, grief, and loss.
As a mental health therapist, I take pride in developing a confidential, trusting, non-judgmental, and empathetic rapport. I have a profound love for helping others and look forward to helping you. Together, we can overcome, face, and cope with your challenges. I believe in you.
For anyone interested in an endeavor to engage with these services, you are one appointment away from discovering hope and empowerment that is uniquely catered for your life’s journey!
