Licensed Resident in Counseling

MarQuitia Glass

We travel the road with you, hope for the hopeful and hopeless! We pair authentic listening with the power of hope.

I am a Chesterfield, Virginia native who has worked in the human services field for over 8 years. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in human services, child, and family welfare from Kaplan University and both of my master’s degrees from Liberty University in human services counseling, marriage, and family, and clinical mental health counseling. I am licensed as a Resident In counseling and have experience working with vast populations including forensics, trauma, at-risk families, LGBTQ+, incarcerated individuals, individuals with past and present substance use histories, individuals experiencing current crises, children, adolescents, couples, and adults. I have helped individuals work through vital life issues and mental health concerns that include marriage concerns, dating concerns, women’s issues, depression, trauma, substance abuse/use, sexual assault, anxiety, self-esteem, behavioral concerns, grief, anger/crisis management, parenting concerns, foster care and adoption, child protective services concerns, motivation building and an overall desire to reach emotional wellness.

My approach to counseling is person-centered and trauma-focused and is carried out in a manner that is nonjudgmental, supportive, and empathetic. I will meet you where you are, with a combination of skills from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Informed Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), to name a few. I have a passion for integrating talk therapy; art therapy techniques, music, dance, play; and incorporating individual’s interests and spiritual/holistic practices, all from a strengths-based approach.

With life, challenges are inevitable. Who said you had to do it on your own. It truly takes a village. Congratulations on starting your journey. Just remember, you can do hard things.
