Brian earned his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lynchburg College and has since worked with both adolescents and adults in a variety of settings, including outpatient, residential, and emergency/crisis services.
Brian’s clinical philosophy is rooted in the tenets of Carl Rogers’s person-centered therapy, William Glasser’s Reality Theory and Choice Therapy, and Miller and Rollnick’s Motivational Interviewing. He believes in meeting people where they are, operating from a humanistic and strengths-based perspective, and motivating people to move towards their identified goals in order to achieve self-actualization. Brian is a practitioner of existential counseling and through his practice, strives to help individuals find purpose and meaning in their lives and address the predictable challenges of the human condition.
