Do you know tightrope walkers are never actually standing still but constantly making fine tweaks in how they stand, so they can adjust themselves to stay balanced on the tightrope? Chia-Hua Lu is compassionate about being the support for people who desire to identify the little tweaks they can make to stay balanced on the tightrope. Registered as a board-certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC), Chia-Hua believes that creativity and art making help to communicate, explore, and connect within one’s self and with their environment. In a world full of distractions, she has witnessed the power of storytelling as people process their past and ongoing experiences. She strives to create a space that is safe and nonjudgmental for clients as they discover their genuine selves and create goals for being present with their loved ones while living in the moment.
Chia-Hua holds a B.S. degree in Occupational Therapy and earned a master’s degree in art therapy from George Washington University. She has worked in behavioral health field for more than ten years. Chia-Hua specializes in helping individuals who have experienced trauma, including but not limited to interpersonal trauma, significant losses, and PTSD. She works with Adults, Couples, Families, Teens and Children.
