Elizabeth is an MSW and a Clinical Social Worker Supervisee (LMHP-S) and obtained a Master of Social Work from Walden University, Minneapolis, Minnesota, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia.
Elizabeth enjoys working with teens, adults, families, and couples in a wide range of ages. She has a wide variety of experience working with clients with anxiety, depression, personality disorders, self- harm/ suicidal ideation, substance/ alcohol use, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, developmental disabilities, extensive work with Military individuals and their family unit, and more. She enjoys and has a deep background working with LGBTQ+ clients including trans clients.
Elizabeth has experience in group work as well as individual work to include, clinical coordination and supervision/ case management, residential settings such as Intensive In-Home Therapy, and adult day care settings in addition to extensive outpatient clinic experience.
Elizabeth has training in Trauma Focused Therapy and has worked with clients with various trauma types to include sexual trauma, work/military related trauma, grief and loss, Medical Clinical Social Work with clients and families in medically fragile situations. She has experience in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), strengths-based approaches, Internal Family Systems Model of Therapy, dual disorders of other mental health and crisis management to include safety planning while both remote and in person, and other therapy modalities.
Elizabeth sees her clients truly from the perspective that they are the heart of the work she does. She recognizes that each person is the best representation of who they are and how they connect with themselves and others in their own life. She is a therapist who lends her training, personality, and demeanor to becoming a guide and mentor along the way for her clients. Elizabeth likes to use humor yet is extremely authentic and genuine as she moves through getting to know her clients and helping them form treatment plans during their therapy journey. Her clients often report that they connected with themselves on deeper levels than they initially thought possible. And have also shared that their therapy experience was a fun and at times tough journey to wellness and betterment and Elizabeth’s approach made them feel at ease and that their needs mattered.
