Registered Social work Intern
Ambar Gaudet

We travel the road with you, hope for the hopeful and hopeless! We pair authentic listening with the power of hope.
Hello, my name is Ambar, and I am a licensed resident in clinical social work in the Commonwealth of Virginia and have been practicing for five years. Before my current profession, I spent nine years as a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy and as a caregiver for veterans and their families. What I value in individuals is that they are the subject matter experts in their lives; it is important for me to draw on the strengths that life experiences have given them to create a framework for everlasting change. We will work together through this journey of personal growth and healing in a way that is person-centered, holistic, and compassionate.
My educational background includes a master’s in social work with concentrations in adult mental health and wellness and military veteran populations and settings from the University of Southern California. My experience in working with individuals and populations includes military veterans and their families, individuals with significant life transitions, grief and bereavement support, and caregivers providing ongoing support for those with a life-changing diagnosis. The frameworks that I have utilized include cognitive-behavioral therapy, strength-based therapy, family-centered, motivational interviewing, pre-and post-bereavement counseling, and mindfulness techniques. With your strengths at play, we will develop an approach that best meets your needs and where you are at with your journey. I look forward to forming a partnership on your journey to healing and self-discovery.
