My name is Alyssa Maxie and I am currently a Licensed Resident in Counseling working towards becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have over 8 years of experience working in the Mental Health Field. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Ferrum College and earned my Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. I enjoy working with various populations, from young children and adolescent teens to couples and individual adults! I believe in a personal, patient-centered approach to counseling, however, I also use techniques such as CBT, Mindfulness, EMDR for trauma patients and Play Therapy for young children. I enjoy camping and being in the mountains, pretty much anything outdoors, and I am a big animal lover!
